Dr. William “Bill” Geyer
FRACGP, MBBS, DRANZCOG, Grad Dip RGP

Dr Bill Geyer graduated from Adelaide University in 1989. After working in Adelaide, the Northern Territory, New South Wales and throughout rural South Australia, he commenced practice in Tanunda in 1995. His special interests are Obstetrics (including deliveries), anaesthetics, injury prevention and Methadone prescription. His special interests are Anaesthetics, injury prevention and Methadone prescription.

Outside of work Dr Geyer enjoys camping and 4WDing. He has been a medic for the Variety SA Bash and 4WD Adventure since 2005. He plays the clarinet and the saxophone – badly.

Dr. Sonia Malone
MBBS, FRACGP, Grad Dip RGP

Sonia joined the Tanunda Medical Centre in 2001 after completing her fellowship in rural General Practice and a diploma in rural medicine (anaesthetics). Her interests include Preventive health care, women’s health, men’s health, and skin cancer medicine. Sonia is an active member of the Australasian Menopause Society and has a special interest in supporting women and their families at the time of menopause. She is also a faculty member of the PRCC medical student program for the collaboration between Adelaide and Flinders universities providing teaching for senior medical students in the Barossa Valley.

When Sonia isn’t at work she loves spending time with her friends, walking her dogs and riding her pushbike around the Valley.

Dr. Fraser Vivian
FRACGP, MBBS, Dip Child Health

Born and raised in rural Victoria, Dr Vivian attended the University of Adelaide, always with an eye on rural General Practice. Following internship, he undertook training in anaesthetic skills at the Modbury Hospital. General Practice training was undertaken in Naracoorte, then in Tanunda until completion in 2003. Dr Vivian has been a partner with the practice since 2004 and divides his time between General Practice consulting, providing anaesthetic services in operating theatres and labour wards in Angaston, Tanunda, and Gawler.  As president of the ‘Barossa Rams’ Rugby Union club, he can be found on weekends either supporting or playing ‘The Game They Play in Heaven’.

Dr. Natalie Payne
MBBS, FRACGP, Dip Child Health

 

Natalie grew up on her family farm and studied medicine in Adelaide, before returning to the country for GP training.  She has been at Tanunda Medical Centre since 2013 and loves the variety of her work.  She has a particular interest in complex chronic disease management, lifestyle approaches to good health, and ensuring personalised care for her patients.  Outside of work, she can be found on the farm with her family, playing tennis, or planning her next home improvement project.

Dr. Jessie Myatt
MBBS, FRACGP, DRANZCOG and Dip Child Health

Dr Jessie Myatt graduated from Flinders University in 2012. She grew up in the Barossa and after spending some time away for university and work, she has returned as a GP. Dr Jessie Myatt has a special interest in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, completing her diploma in obstetrics at the Lyell McEwin Hospital, as well as paediatrics, completing the diploma in Child Health. When not consulting Jessie enjoys spending time with her young family and running.

Dr. Matthew Teague
FRACGP, MBBS, DRANZCOG, Advanced Diploma Skin Cancer Medicine

Dr Teague completed his initial medical training at the University of Adelaide in 2001. After working in Queensland and the Northern Territory he returned to South Australia to complete general practice training in Adelaide’s southern suburbs and the Adelaide Hills. Joining the practice at Tanunda in 2013 he has experience in a broad range of general practice and rural medicine with a particular interest in emergency medicine and chronic disease management. He has completed further training in skin cancer medicine and surgery and provides skin checks and skin surgery services . Having a young family and living in the Barossa he enjoys being part of the local community participating in weekend sports, gardening and of course wine appreciation.

Dr. DANIEL PELLEGRINI
MBBS, FACRRM

 

Dr Daniel Pellegrini graduated from Adelaide University in 2017. Daniel grew up locally in the Barossa before moving to Mount Gambier after completing his university training.

After his time in Mount Gambier, Daniel moved to Waikerie in order to complete his GP training before returning to the Barossa in 2022. His special interests include chronic disease management and medical education.

Outside of work he enjoys both cooking and trying new and interesting food.

Dr. Sally Nelson
MBBS, FRACGP, MPH

 

Dr Sally Nelson joined Tanunda medical Centre in 2013 after spending 10 years working in general practice in rural Queensland, remote Aboriginal communities and in various locations around Adelaide. Her special interests are paediatrics, emergency medicine and preventative health care.

Dr. Kate Honner
MBBS, FACRRM,DRGA

 

Kate was raised on her family’s 6th generation farm on southern Yorke Peninsula with her 5 younger brothers. She spent over 2 decades as a Registered Nurse (Emergency and Intensive Care) and Midwife before studying Medicine at the University of Notre Dame in Sydney in 2012, with the long-term goal of returning to country South Australia as a Rural GP Anaesthetist. Kate has been at the Tanunda Medical Centre since 2021 and does anaesthetics at Angaston, Kapunda and Gawler. She’s passionate about providing personalised and thoughtful general practice and anaesthetic services to rural communities across the lifespan. Outside of work, Kate enjoys cooking for family and friends, live music, wintry weekends away and exploring the wonders of the Barossa Valley.

Dr. MIKAELA BORGAS
FRACGP, MD, IBBL, GDCH

 

Dr Mikaela Borgas graduated with a Doctor of Medicine from Flinders University in 2020. She completed her early clinical training at Flinders Medical Centre before pursuing her passion for community-based care through general practice training. After spending time at Tanunda Medical Centre as a GP registrar in 2023, she is delighted to return as a permanent part of the team.
Mikaela has particular interests in preventative health, women’s and sexual health, and the management of chronic conditions. She takes a holistic and collaborative approach to care and is also actively involved in medical education.
Originally from South Australia’s Mid North, Mikaela values the sense of community and lifestyle that the Barossa offers. Outside of work, you’ll often find her running long distances, sampling great food, exploring new places (often for running events!), or enjoying the outdoors with her beloved dog.

Dr. Jacynta Batt
MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Jacynta Batt graduated from the University of Adelaide at the end of 2017. She worked as a junior doctor at Flinders Medical Centre before starting GP training in Loxton in 2020, then moving to Tanunda in 2021. She was inspired to pursue rural general practice following her year-long placement at TMC in 2016 as a medical student.

Jacynta’s special interests are preventative medicine, cardiovascular disease, medical education and LGBTQ+ health. She is able to prescribe gender affirmation hormone therapy following the informed consent model.

Outside of medicine Jacynta enjoys video gaming and martial arts (she currently trains at Element Jiu Jitsu in Nuriootpa). She loves animals and experiencing good food (and wine).

DR REBECCA DICKENSON
MBBS, FRACGP-RG, DCH

Dr Becky Dickenson graduated from University of Adelaide in 2016. Originally from the South East, Becky worked at Lyell McEwin then Waikerie before joining the team at Tanunda Medical Centre in 2020.

She has an interest in Chronic Disease management, Women’s Health including Obstetrics shared care and is currently pursuing further study in Travel Medicine. Outside of work, Becky enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outside hiking or playing squash.

DR BOSCO LAWRENCE
MBBS

Originally from Sri Lanka, Dr Bosco Lawrence graduated from medical school in Belarus in 2013.

After moving to Australia four years ago, Bosco discovered a passion for rural general practice.

Outside of work, Bosco is devoted to caring for his seven-month-old.

In his free time, Bosco enjoys the gym and playing social tennis.

DR DARIANNE GROWDEN
MD

 

Dr Growden was born and raised in the states Mid North region, moving to Adelaide to pursue a career in paramedicine. She eventually jumped ship and completed her Doctor of Medicine at Flinders University in 2022 with the intention of returning to the country as a Rural Generalist. She has a keen interest in critical care medicine. 

 

When she’s not working you’ll probably find Darianne at the park with her young family or in the garden. Admittedly, she knows nothing about wine so feel free to provide her with some education!

DR HAMISH FIELKE
MBBS

Born and raised in Tanunda before moving to the Adelaide Hills for secondary school and university, Hamish is back in Tanunda to continue his passion of working in rural General Practice.

Graduating from The University of Adelaide in 2023, Hamish has been working in the Barossa Valley, Gawler and Adelaide Hills and enjoys the rural lifestyle. He is particularly interested in chronic disease management, emergency medicine, mental health and loves the variety that rural general practice provides.

Outside of Medicine he loves all things sport, particularly Footy, Formula 1 and American Football.

MBBS

Dr Gorata Mosweu is doctor in training awaiting fellowship with an interest in research. She loves all things GP and very much patient orientated.

Gorata did most of her junior doctor training in Melbourne, so fairly new to South Australia.

She has a 3yr old daughter and a cat called Pablo.

If not working you will find Dr Mosweu sipping coffee, spending time with Nako and she is super connected to her friends.
